Services
Therapy, Assessment & Specialized Support
I offer depth-oriented psychotherapy, psychological and neuropsychological assessment, and specialized support for religious trauma and faith transitions in the Denver metro area.
Beyond clinical psychology, I also offer
permaculture consultation and design for residential and small-acreage properties.
Psychotherapy
Individual Psychotherapy for Adults
I provide depth-oriented psychotherapy for adults who want to understand not only what they are experiencing, but the patterns, relationships, histories, beliefs, and questions of meaning that may be underneath it.
My approach is relational and exploratory. Rather than treating you as a problem to solve, we work toward a deeper understanding of what is happening and what meaningful change might look like for you.
Areas We May Explore
I work with concerns including:
- Anxiety and depression
- Trauma and complex trauma
- Grief and loss
- Identity and life transitions
- Relationships and recurring interpersonal patterns
- Eating disorders
- Mind-body and psychosomatic symptoms
- Men’s issues and identity
- Spiritual and existential concerns
- Meaning, purpose, and direction
- Ecological and climate-related distress
You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or a perfectly defined goal. Sometimes part of the work is understanding the question itself.
What Depth-Oriented Therapy Means
Depth-oriented psychotherapy looks beyond symptoms alone. We may pay attention to relationships, emotional patterns, beliefs, dreams, identity, unconscious conflicts, cultural influences, and the ways your past continues to shape the present.
The aim is not simply insight for its own sake. It is greater freedom in how you understand yourself, relate to others, and choose how you want to live.
Who This Approach May Fit
This work may be a good fit if you:
- Want to understand the deeper patterns behind what you are experiencing
- Have tried coping strategies but feel something remains unresolved
- Are navigating identity, belief, grief, or major life change
- Want room for philosophical, spiritual, or existential questions
- Are looking for an engaged thinking partner rather than a quick fix
Assessments
Comprehensive Psychological Assessment
A thoughtful evaluation should do more than produce scores or assign a diagnosis. It should help make sense of what is happening and provide useful direction for what comes next.
I offer psychological and neuropsychological evaluations designed around the specific questions bringing someone in—whether those involve cognition, memory, behavior, emotional functioning, development, or day-to-day independence.

Neuropsychological Evaluation
Fee: $3,000
A comprehensive evaluation of cognitive functioning when there are concerns involving areas such as:
- Memory
- Attention
- Executive functioning
- Processing and cognitive changes
- Neurological conditions
- Changes in daily functioning
Testing is selected according to the referral question rather than applying the same battery to every person.
Psychological Evaluation
Fee: $1,500
A broader psychological evaluation for questions involving emotional, behavioral, personality, or diagnostic functioning.
Assessment may be helpful when an existing diagnosis is unclear, treatment has stalled, symptoms overlap, or a fuller psychological picture is needed to guide care.
Autism Evaluation
Fee: $3,500
Autism assessment for adolescents and adults, incorporating clinical history and appropriate measures, which may include the ADOS-2.
An evaluation can help clarify longstanding questions involving social communication, patterns of behavior, sensory experience, developmental history, or previous diagnoses that have not fully explained someone’s experience.
Dementia Evaluation
Fee: $1,500
Focused evaluation when changes in memory, thinking, behavior, or daily functioning raise questions about cognitive decline.
The goal is to better understand the pattern of change and provide clinically useful information for the individual, family, and referring professionals.
Disability Evaluation
Fee: $500
Assessment of IQ and adaptive functioning when documentation is needed to support eligibility for appropriate state services.
The evaluation focuses on both cognitive ability and how a person manages the practical demands of everyday life.
Religious Trauma & Faith Transitions
Therapy When Belief, Identity & Belonging Begin to Change
Questioning or leaving a faith tradition may reshape your relationships, family ties, sexuality, morality, community, identity, purpose, and even your sense of whether your own thoughts can be trusted.
For some people, there is also a history of religious trauma or spiritual abuse—fear, shame, coercion, manipulation, purity culture, rigid authority, or wounds from communities that were supposed to provide safety and belonging.

Religious Trauma
Therapy can provide space to understand experiences involving:
- Spiritual abuse or manipulation
- Shame- or fear-based religious environments
- High-control faith communities
- Purity culture
- Chronic guilt or fear of punishment
- Difficulty trusting yourself after leaving a religious system
- Identity development after religious harm
Faith Deconstruction & Transition
You do not need to have left religion to do this work. Some people are leaving a tradition. Others want to remain within one but relate to it differently. Some no longer know what they believe.
Therapy is not about replacing one worldview with another. The goal is to make room for honest exploration without steering you toward belief or unbelief.
Rebuilding Meaning
When an inherited worldview changes, the question eventually becomes larger than: What do I believe now?
It may become:
Who am I? What matters to me? Where do I belong? What can I trust? What kind of life do I want to build?
Those questions belong here too.
Religious Wounds Process Group
Working Through Religious Harm With Others Who Understand
The Religious Wounds Process Group brings together people working through religious harm, spiritual abuse, faith transitions, and the complicated aftermath of changing or leaving a belief system.
What the Group Offers
The group creates room to:
Speak openly about experiences that may be difficult for others to understand
Hear your own story reflected in the experiences of others
Explore shame, grief, anger, identity, and belonging
Practice new ways of relating and being understood
Build connection outside of former religious structures

Getting Started
What Happens Next?

Start With a Conversation
Schedule a brief consultation and tell me a little about what brings you here. You do not need to explain everything at once.

We Clarify the Fit
We’ll talk about what you are looking for and whether psychotherapy, assessment, a group, or another option makes the most sense. For assessment referrals, we will clarify the specific question the evaluation needs to answer.

Decide Whether to Move Forward
A consultation is not a commitment. It is simply a chance to understand the next step and whether working together feels like the right fit.
Dream Analysis
A Phenomenological Approach to Dream Analysis
Dreams are not coded symbols hiding deeper meaning. They offer direct windows into a person’s life and world.
Using techniques drawn from
existentialism
and
phenomenology, my approach to dream analysis uses careful, objective description that does not stray from dream content. The result is an analysis grounded in the dreamer’s reality, not a theory imposed on you.

Comprehensive Dream Analysis
Fee: $110
Each analysis includes a detailed review of the dream’s
objects,
activities,
processes, and
themes, along with both a cold reading and a contextual warm reading based on the information you provide.
Up to
two rounds of email inquiry may be included if additional context is needed. A confidential written report is provided within
10 business days.
Dream Analysis Feedback
This is so good! Wow, thank you for this [dream] analysis. It feels so helpful. I feel lighter and clearer after reading it the first time through. I’m looking forward to spending more time with it.
*Dream analysis is not therapy and does not create a therapeutic relationship. This service is separate from Mycelium Psychology and from Jesse Fister, Ph.D.’s role as a clinical psychologist.
Permaculture Design
Design for Land That Can Grow With You
My work outside the therapy room includes permaculture consultation and regenerative property design for residential and small-acreage properties.
Drawing on training under
Geoff Lawton and more than a decade of hands-on homesteading experience, I design around the land, the people using it, and what can realistically be built and maintained over time.

Permaculture Consultation
Fee: $150 / hour
Flexible one-on-one guidance for your land, home, or project. Consultations may cover water, soil, planting, infrastructure, animals, site layout, project priorities, and other design questions.
Comprehensive Permaculture Design
Fee: $2,100
A complete, site-specific permaculture design delivered as a detailed PDF report, including site assessment, zone and sector analysis, water systems, soil building, planting guilds, long-term stewardship, and phased implementation priorities.
